About
A small company with a large job
Girder was founded in Bangalore in October 2026 to bring the judgement of a seasoned OT security operation to every industrial site, using AI and keeping people in charge of it.
Mission
Give the people who run and protect industrial sites the intelligence they need, in the language they use, at the speed the plant needs.
Vision
Every industrial site, however small, with the awareness and judgement of a world-class OT security operation.
The gap between the handful of operations centres that have deep OT security expertise and the hundreds of thousands of plants, substations, water works and factories that do not is the central problem in industrial cyber security. AI can close it, if it is built by people who have done the work and held to the discipline of the work: name the source, quote the score, label the judgement, keep a human in charge. That is what Girder builds, one product at a time, starting with the daily brief and moving towards the analyst and the assessor.
Principles
- The plant first. Advice is mapped to where it sits in the plant and who should act on it, or it is not advice.
- Facts and judgement, kept apart. Sources are named. Scores are quoted and never estimated. Inferences are labelled as inferences.
- A human in charge. AI reads, sorts and drafts. A person who has done the job decides what goes out, and every outward action of a future analyst needs a human's approval.
- Independent. No vendor sponsors Girder; no vendor is left out; nothing is sold to the people we write about.
- Open about the method. The rules, the sources and the corrections are published, and mistakes are fixed the same day.
- Safety over speed. In industrial systems a wrong instruction can hurt people. Nothing Girder makes will ever tell a site to change a controller on the strength of a line of text.

Relay
Relay is Girder's mascot: a small controller module with a signal trace for a face, the steel of the masthead, the two LEDs every PLC owner recognises. Relay is the app icon of the Brief and the friendly face of serious work; it never appears next to a severity and never speaks for the company.
